 Performance

Four heavy duty engine options offer a range of capacities to suit different types of truck buyers. The standard V-8 creates 383 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. If that's not enough, you can command a 6.4-liter V-8 with 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque. Saving fuel, the 6.4L V-8 utilizes cylinder management during highway cruises. If you prefer a diesel, there is one powertrain and three ways to make the most of it. If you choose the regular automatic or the manual, diesel power outlay is 660 lb.-ft. of torque. With the commercial Aisin six-speed automatic transmission, the equation changes. This powertrain combination can generate 800 lb.-ft. of torque. The top tow rating is 17,980 pounds. Equally impressive, the top payload rating is 3,990 pounds. Ram's five-link rear suspension is an exclusive handling feature. The special device allows more spring over obstacles, decreasing the ride roughness so common in heavy duty trucks. Further smoothing the ride, Ram's auto-leveling air suspension is offered on the 2500. The system can automatically balance the load and/or automatically lower the ride height for maximum aerodynamics.

 Interior

The most surprising tool in the Ram 2500's toolbox is its ability to serve the driver and passenger. Every cabin, regardless of trim, has top quality materials in a pleasing design. A quieter ride is assured by careful engineering techniques and plentiful, targeted insulation. On the higher trims, the cabins seem more like SUVs. Real wood accents are matched to rich leathers. Climate controlled front seats, power adjusting pedals and other amenities take care of the driver. You can keep your electronics and gear organized with a dual glovebox, a large center console, and special in-seat storage.

 Features

Whether you choose the five-inch or 8.4-inch audio display, you'll enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth streaming audio. The larger touch screen lets you swipe and pinch just as you do with your tablet. The menus make it easy to find the apps or functions you want. HD radio and Siri Eyes Free are part of the system. You can text as well as phone without using your hands. For busy workers, a Do Not Disturb button can block these functions until needed. The truck becomes a WiFi hotspot with UConnect Access.

 Safety

Ram precautions include a high-strength steel body with crumple zones and steel door bars to stop crash force intrusion. Electronic sensors determine crash severity, directing the airbags to inflate, but only as needed for the situation. For slow-speed maneuvers on the worksite, Ram drivers benefit from a new cargo-view camera as well as a rearview camera and front bumper assist sensors.

The 2016 Ram 2500 is a hard-working truck with a serious can-do attitude. Automotive analyst Edmunds has put this A-rated truck at the top of its annual shopping guide. With high performance engine choices, shoppers will find a 2500 that matches their hauling and payload needs.

Buyers can put their own spin on the Ram 2500 with nine trim levels, 11 wheel options, and 30 paint colors. The large beds come in three sizes. To assist users, tailgates are equipped with a tension-releasing torsion bar. Fender-mounted storage and bed tie-downs are part of the exclusive RamBox system.

The hard-working Ram 2500 is available for your inspection at Lake Keowee Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
